The Ryve ("we", "us") helps you find what to watch across streaming services and decide which subscriptions are worth keeping. We are built around one principle: collect as little personal data as possible.
1. What we collect
- Account data you give us: your email and name; your referral code if you signed up through one.
- Preferences: the streaming services and plans you pay for, your country/region, languages and genres — to find what to watch and estimate savings.
- Usage data: your watchlist, ratings, and searches within The Ryve, to improve recommendations.
- Optional contact for alerts: if you opt in, your Telegram chat ID and/or phone number. Optional — the Ryve works without it.
- Technical data: basic privacy-respecting analytics and security logs.
We do NOT collect your home address, date of birth, government IDs, contacts, precise location, or your payment card details (handled entirely by our payment processor — they never reach us).
2. What we do NOT do
We do not sell your data. We do not link to or access your streaming accounts. We do not use your data for third-party advertising profiling.
3. Why we use your data
To create and secure your account, provide the finder and savings recommendations, send notifications you ask for, run the referral program, improve the product, and meet legal obligations. Where required we rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in running and securing the service.
4. Who we share it with
Only trusted providers needed to run The Ryve, under data-protection terms: authentication & database (e.g. Supabase), payment processor (e.g. Razorpay/Stripe — they process cards, not us), email/messaging (incl. Telegram), and hosting/security/analytics (e.g. Cloudflare). We may disclose data if required by law.
5. Affiliate links
Some "rent/buy/sign-up" links are affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
6. Cookies
Essential cookies keep you signed in. Non-essential/analytics cookies are used only with your consent; you can decline them.
7. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Delete your account anytime and we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where law requires retention.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act and GDPR you can access, correct, delete, export, and object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email privacy@the-ryve.com. You may also complain to your data-protection authority.
9. Security
Encryption in transit and at rest, managed authentication (we never store your password), strict access controls, and no card data stored. No system is 100% secure, but we follow industry best practices to keep risk low.
10. Children
Not directed at children under 13 (or your country's minimum age); we don't knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
We'll post changes here and update the date; material changes will be notified.
